The winery was
founded in 1930 by Pascual Olivares. Our founder was convinced of the potential of Monastrell grape and in our poor, sandy-loam soils, with sparse rainfall, he started elaborating wines which he provided for his region.
His sons expanded the sales nationally and then they started to export in the 60’s. Currently, the winery is run by the third generation of the Olivares family.
Our aim is to produce Monastrell wines that reflect and exalt the characteristics of our soils. Our vineyards start at a high altitude (825 meters), in sandy-lime rich soils, and use old ungrafted vines with an average age of 55 years. The transformation of our grapes into wine is a natural process that passes from hand-picked harvesting to fermentation with only wild yeasts, and then to aging the wine in French oak.
